Year 5

Year 5 is an exciting time where children are encouraged to think critically, explore deeply, and take greater ownership of their learning. This term, our learners are diving into two fascinating topics: Earth Matters, discovering the wonders of our planet, understanding environmental issues, and exploring how humans interact with the natural world, and Ancient Greeks, learning about mythology, history, and the remarkable achievements of one of the most influential civilizations in history. Through hands-on activities, research projects, and creative investigations, children experience learning in a way that is both engaging and memorable.

Following the British curriculum, Year 5 ensures children develop their literacy, numeracy, and scientific understanding, while also linking these skills to their topics wherever possible. They write, present, experiment, and problem-solve, building confidence and independence as they learn. Every lesson is designed to inspire curiosity, encourage collaboration, and foster a love of learning that stays with them beyond the classroom.
