Year 2

Year 2 is an exciting stage where children continue to grow in confidence, curiosity, and creativity. This term, our young learners are diving into fascinating topics like Oceans and Seas, discovering the wonders of marine life and how our oceans shape the world, and exploring The Great Fire of London, learning about history through stories, timelines, and dramatic reenactments. We bring these topics to life with hands-on activities, experiments, and creative projects, so children can explore, ask questions, and make meaningful connections between subjects.

Following the British curriculum, we ensure that children develop core skills across literacy, numeracy, and science, linking their learning to their topics whenever possible. From writing stories inspired by the sea, to investigating floating and sinking in science experiments, children are encouraged to think, explore, and create, building knowledge in ways that are fun and memorable.

At Oakwood, Year 2 is a place where children can learn through discovery, develop independence, and enjoy every part of school life. Our welcoming and supportive environment allows children to grow academically, socially, and creatively, making every day full of wonder and excitement. If you’re looking for a school where your child can thrive and love learning, Year 2 at Oakwood British School is the perfect start to their journey.
